Neria Cepaite

          

Composer and pianist NeriaCepaite is one of Lithuania'sgreat young talents on today's musical scene. With the debut performance of her"Requiem", (which was created during her studies in 2001) and performed by the NationalSymphony Orchestra, soloists and Kaunas State Chorus of Lithuania in Vilniusher presence as a fresh voice in the world of classical composition has beenkeenly felt.
"In my creation I orient towardsgenres of music of gross extents such as Musical, Oratorio, Opera.I am planningto relate musical - creative conception with Operatic, Musical's works. My aimis to look for new Expanse, Innovations in this sphere relating Operatic - allTheatrical sphere's Language, Dramaturgy and a Plot as the totality ofrealization of Scenic visual and Sonic genre's Expression."

Neria Cepaite was born in1976. She studied choir conducting at the Kaunas Conservatory(1991-1995) andcomposition at the Lithuanian Academy of Music in1995-1999 (studies Bachelor of Arts), 1999-2001 (Postgraduate studies).She obtaineda Master degree. She also finished Orchestra Conducting with Prof.J.Aleksa.

 In study Year N.Cepaite attended New MusicCourses for composers, where she studied with Prof. L.Andriessen, R.Kelterborn.

Her works have been perfomedat the contemporary music festival “ Gaida” and many others.In 1999 waspublished her CD “ Mini Opera “.

During her studies NeriaCepaite oriented towards musical particularity of Massive, Concert, Symphonic,Oratorical genres.

 In 2009 she has created the new studymodules Orchestration and Arrangementand “Leadership of musical performanceand production” in the Faculty of Filmand TV Composers at Lithuania Academy of Theatre and Music.

Recently she works with manyinternational soloists writing them concerti.

Now she makes her debut withgrand Opera-Musical ”The Congress ofBirds”.

 

 Ms. N.Cepaite maintains a very busy scheduleof commissions and her music is being performed around the world in concerthalls, with symphonies, soloists and chamber musicians. Upcoming commissionsinclude the Oratorio "Gloria,""The Congress of the Birds,"and a Concerto for Viola and Orchestrawritten for the international concert violist Brett Deubner.
